I thought there was something wrong with me. You watch the TV shows and the women are always talking about great orgasms. But for me, it wasn’t all that thrilling. All I have to say is: thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • Chronic cough

How will Apex benefit my pelvic floor health?

Apex is a medical device that will strengthen and tone the pelvic floor muscles to effectively treat stress urinary incontinence. Strong pelvic floor muscles allow you to cough, laugh, sneeze and exercise without leakage.

Why can’t I just do Kegel’s on my own.

Research has shown that over half of women who attempt Kegel exercises do them incorrectly by over-using their abdomen, buttock or leg muscles.  ApexTM takes the confusion out of Kegels by doing them for you.

Is it important to inflate Apex?

ApexTM uses a revolutionary design that ensures a perfect fit for every woman. The medical grade, phthalate-free silicone rubber inflates via an ergonomically positioned hand pump to allow the user to adjust the size of the shaft. The inflation ensures the muscle stimulation contacts are always in the proper position and provides slight resistance to the muscle contractions for further strengthening.

What if I don’t feel my pelvic floor muscles contract?

Apex can be rotated to re-position the muscle stimulation contacts as needed.  Make sure to have Apex fully inserted and inflated before rotating.  A simple rotation 90 degrees to the right or left will reposition the stimulation contacts effectively.

How does Muscle Stimulation Feel?

When using muscle stimulation it is recommended that you start at the lowest level and slowly increase until you feel a full contraction of your pelvic floor muscles—it feels as if your vagina is tightening around the probe and then relaxing—simply, a Kegel exercise done properly for you. Some women would describe the feeling as their muscles “pulling upward and in” or a “gentle massaging sensation.” When beginning your stimulation session, you may feel a slight tingle and as you continue to increase the stimulation level you will feel a comfortable contraction of your pelvic floor muscles. Once you feel a full contraction, you have reached your appropriate muscle stimulation level. Now, relax and let Apex do the work for you.(Apex has 10 levels of stimulation) .

How often should I use Apex?

It is recommended that you use Apex daily until you reach your desired level of pelvic floor tone; then one to two times per week to maintain.  Exercising your pelvic floor is similar to going to the gym, if you stop—you will lose the gains you have made.

Do I need to use the enclosed gel or is there an alternative?

It is extremely important to use the gel provided with your Apex. It is a conductive gel that promotes proper conduction of the muscle stimulation. The gel is salt free, bacteriostatic and has special polymers specifically for conduction. Gel should be used on the muscle stimulation contacts and on the tip of the device to enhance results.

How do I determine which level of stimulation to use each day? Should it be increased over time?

As you continue to use Apex, you will be able to increase the level of stimulation because your pelvic floor muscles will adapt to the stimulation level. There are 10 levels of stimulation and your clinician will assist you to identify the proper level for you.
